We purchased a brand new mattress and it's very comfortable, but just needed that extra edge until it's softened a bit more. But I must say when this topper needs replacing we will be buying another one, with the mattress and topper combined it's got to be the best night's sleep ever. Highly recommended. Better then any mattress topper we have ever purchased.
